Leah Azzopardi
Clinic Coordinator, CDA Level II
Leah was born in Simcoe and grew up on the family farm with her parents and two sisters. Leah loves Norfolk County and didn’t move far after she got married. She now lives happily in Wilsonville with her husband, Brian.
Leah’s dream was always to work in the dental field as a hygienist. As a child, she loved going to the dentist, asking all kinds of questions and pretending to practice with the tools. A traumatic hiccup in Leah’s late teens caused her to take a different path in life.
Leah graduated from Fanshawe College in 2000 as a Respiratory Therapist. After 5 years of working at Norfolk General Hospital, Leah decided that she still had a deep passion for dentistry. Although grateful for the experiences as a Respiratory Therapist, Leah said goodbye to that life and enrolled in the Dental Assisting program at CDI College.
Leah has now been a Level II Dental Assistant for 15 years, working in general dentistry and orthodontic practices locally. She is a proud member of the Ontario Dental Association and devotes her time to increasing her knowledge in nutrition.
Leah came to work at Norfolk Dental Hygiene because of her strong belief in the mouth-body connection, overall health and wellness, and her interest in nutrition. Leah is a strong advocate in not just treating the symptoms but finding out the real reason “why” and getting to the root cause of an ailment.
Outside of work, Leah enjoys gardening and canning from her harvest and reading a good book on the back deck in her muskoka chair with a hot tea. She also loves spending time with her husband, either going for a long bike ride on the trail of visiting local or new breweries for a cold pint.
